Celebrating Volunteers Week 2022
This week we’re celebrating Volunteers Week 2022 and joining organisations across the Borough to thank volunteers who make such a difference to people’s lives.
Every day thousands of people across West Lancs help others in their community by volunteering. It may be a formal volunteering role with a local organisation, or helping to run the local community group, or it could be helping their older neighbour next door.
They all play a vital part in making sure families get fed, new people are welcomed, sick people get the provisions they need, people have green spaces to enjoy, lonely people have someone to connect to.
The coronavirus pandemic has raised the profile of volunteering and more people than ever are aware of the immense contribution being made every single day by volunteers. This crucial contribution has not stopped, despite the uncertain times we find ourselves in, and will continue to be an important part of the Borough’s recovery.
Volunteers do it for little thanks, with no fanfare, and we’d be lost without them. That’s why, on this 38th annual Volunteers Week, we join with organisations across the Borough to say: THANK YOU volunteers!
West Lancashire volunteers
So why do people in West Lancs volunteer and what do they get out of it?
We asked some local volunteers what motivates them and here’s what they told us….
Thanks from West Lancashire organisations..
Volunteers are the life blood of many organisations across the Borough – and they join us this Volunteers Week to say thank you:
And finally…a big thank you
We join with organisations and groups across West Lancs to say a massive THANK YOU to all the volunteers who have worked so hard over the last year – you’ve made all the difference!
