We are working in partnership with West Lancashire Borough Council, through the Community Champions scheme, to improve the health and wellbeing of people who have been adversely affected by COVID-19 and reduce health inequalities locally.
This last year has been the toughest time for many people, but one of the good things is the way people are pulling together and supporting each other, and making sure the most vulnerable in our communities stay safe in the pandemic.
The Community Champions project is supporting this groundswell of community action and is working to get accurate and up to date information about the rapidly changing local COVID-19 situation into the heart of communities across West Lancashire.
Volunteers needed: We are looking for volunteers to support this work by cascading information from us into local communities and by giving practical help to others in your neighbourhood
Grant funding: There were five different grants available and the scheme has now closed. Applicants will be notified soon.
Information cascade: Our weekly information update on the local covid-19 situation is circulated to local community champions who then cascade it to their networks.
Support organisations: there is a wide range of help and support available to those who are struggling from local organisations.
